Life With Braces

Can be Really Awesome

Having braces is much more comfortable than it used to be, especially when you get your braces at Maginnis Orthodontics. That’s because Dr. Maginnis offers many of the latest technologies designed to make orthodontics better than ever.

The first few days after each appointment there here might be some general tenderness of your teeth and mouth. Your teeth might even feel a little loose (after all – they’re on the move. You may want to take some form of pain reliever (what you would normally take for a headache) during this time. Tenderness usually subsides within a few days.

Types of Braces We Offer

Types of Braces We Offer

Metal Braces

Metal braces are one of the most effective types of braces because they are the cheapest option, and are easy for an orthodontist to control when correcting your teeth. Metal braces, also known as traditional braces, come in a range of colors, allowing people with braces to make their smiles pop.

Self-ligating Braces

The only difference between self-ligating braces and metal braces is that self-ligating braces use clips or brackets to adjust and correct your teeth rather than rubber bands placed around the brackets, and it’s easier to clean your teeth. Self-ligating braces also make your orthodontist visits quicker and less painful.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are metal braces made with different material, and are a bit more expensive. These blend in with your teeth because they are either the same color or clear, making them less noticeable than traditional braces.
